Historical Profile: First Reformed Church

South River, New Jersey

First Reformed Church of South River began in 1895 as the Hungarian Reformed Church. It affiliated in 1900 with the Reformed Church in the United States, a German sister denomination of the RCA. Over the next 27 years it affiliated with the Reformed Hungarian Church, the Presbyterian Church, and the Episcopal Church. It joined the RCA in 1927.
